This story goes back to 2016, Daniel was already a homebrewer and passionate about the Craft Beer world and decides to start designing a business plan for a brewery. While he was looking for the right person to help him with the idea, he kept pushing boundaries and improving his recipes. In April of 2018 Daniel and Filipe met through a common friend and everything was about to change. The passion for beer, learning and experimentation was the begging of a great friendship. Later that year, Filipe left Portugal to travel around the Southeast Asia and ended up in Melbourne, Australia, where he had his first Craft Beer experience working for a Mobile Canning Company and the opportunity to start Homebrewing. In the beginning of 2020, the two friends decided to step forward and Filipe came back home to join forces with Daniel and move on the idea of opening a brewery. Tiago was already one of Daniel’s best friends and soon became part of the team.

Inspired by the European classics and the modern American hop forward beers, Ophiussa Brewing Company was born in February of 2021 with the mission of brewing great beers for everyone. The production site is located in Setúbal and is equipped with a 6 hl brewhouse, 5 and 10 hl unitanks and a small canning line.
